Standard Chartered has secured a digital asset license under the newly enacted Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, allowing it to expand its crypto services within the European Union. The bank has established a new entity in Luxembourg, which will serve as its regulatory entry point in the EU. This move enables Standard Chartered to offer crypto custody services to clients across the region. Margaret Harwood-Jones, a representative of the bank, expressed excitement about providing digital asset custody services, emphasizing the security and regulatory compliance that comes with being a regulated entity.
